4.5 Food chains

There is few animals at the tertiary consumer level as there is not enough prey for them to consume in order to have the necessary energy to survive. The higher up you are, the more energy you need, more energy means more prey which needs more land and so the earth can't support that much land for 1teritary consumer so that is why they are few.
